OSB 3 boards can be used both indoors and outdoors in damp environments.
The quality of the board is given by the use of fibre pine wood in particular, by the orientation of the splines and by the three-layer construction of the splines.

Description
OSB is a triple-laminated rigid board made of three layers of orthogonally orientated (interlocked) wood chips, glued and pressed by a continuous hot-pressing process.

The use of OSB boards is multiple, in addition to the structural applications in timber frame constructions (realisation of floor slabs, floors, walls or ashlars), the product can also be used for a whole series of related applications, such as:
- realisation of concrete formwork
- making shelving
- lightweight temporary constructions (barracks, site organisation, bays, sheds, sheds)
- temporary site enclosures
- stages, jibs
- display panels

Due to the special orientation of the splines in the middle and surface layers, OSB has a peculiarity in terms of mechanical behaviour: the bending strength and bending stiffness (modulus of elasticity) of the boards is about 2.5 times higher on the main axis (strength axis) than on the secondary axis.
For easy identification, the principal axis is given by the length of the board, and the secondary axis is its width.
In the case of floors and beams, the boards should be laid and mounted with the long side perpendicular to the supports (beams, trusses) and the short side fixed to the supports.
Cross joints should be avoided. To this end, the boards must be spaced at least 40 cm apart between adjacent rows of panelling.
In the case of wall panels, maximum rigidity is achieved when the panels are mounted in a vertical position.

In addition to its outstanding resistance to bending and shearing, OSB also has very good dimensional stability in humid conditions.
It is the ideal choice for the realisation of load-bearing signage, in the case of timber frame constructions.
